Rising Kona Coffee Tour: A Free Big Island Stop We’d Recommend
Rising Kona Coffee Tour was a fun stop and one we would recommend. It felt different from the usual beach or historic-site rhythm of the trip, which made it a great change of pace.
To get there, you go through a private gate with a code and drive up into a gated community to reach the farm. The owner, Jason, is a younger guy with a finance background who bought the property without even realizing it had coffee plants on it. He discovered the plants while weed eating and eventually decided to go all-in on the coffee farm.
That story alone makes the stop interesting. The tour itself was fun, educational, and easy to enjoy. We learned about the coffee tree, the growing process, and how coffee makes its way from plant to cup.
What I liked most was that it felt personal. It did not feel overly commercial or overly scripted. It felt like hearing a real story from someone who took a risk and built something.
Final Take
This is a good stop when you want something educational without it feeling too formal.
