Sunset Beach Park feels like what you picture when you think of the North Shore.

The sand here is noticeably heavier, which makes walking a little more work than other beaches.

The Surf

This isn’t always a casual swim beach.

You can visibly see the rip currents and wave patterns, especially on bigger days.

It’s a great place to watch—not always the place to jump in.

The parking area had:

surfer vans
wild chickens and roosters
a laid-back, local feel

There’s also a bike path nearby that runs along the coastline, connecting multiple beaches.
